There are always going to be those times with fertility and creating your family that come up where you just don’t know which direction to go in. Usually as you look at the options, none of them feel ideal, they might even all just seem really scary. The thing about being at the crossroads is that it temporarily robs you of the one thing that keeps you going – having a plan.
This seems to be the most unsettling thing for most of us – we like to have as much control as possible, and unless there is a clear plan that feels good we risk being in no-mans’ land. I am here to say that sometimes it’s ok to be there. Sometimes we can’t ‘know’ exactly what we should be doing or where the next place to go is going to be. Our hearts, our bodies our dreams need time to recalibrate. There may be times when you can’t do anything but just ‘be’ just as you are. You may find you are at an impossible crossroads where nothing feels good, it all just feels like a nightmare.
If you find yourself here then it is a sure sign to just pause for a few days. Allow yourself to focus just on the basic needs of each day – getting dressed eating, showering etc. Know that your higher self is always ruminating on the crossroads even when you are not actively trying to solve the puzzle of where to head next.
When you have that space you can begin the process of making and unmaking decisions. Sometimes you can try things on for size and just imagine you have made a decision for a few days and see how it makes you feel. Then you can often get a sense of what feels like the best way forward in your gut. Trust that this gut instinct WILL bring you to the conclusion that is right for you.
Whether you can’t decide whether to be super strict or just say sod it and relax or whether you are deciding how to go on, if you can go on, if it’s time to stop or time to look at other options it’s your cross roads and you can take your time in sitting with it.
There is rarely a decision you can’t go back on if you feel differently in days, weeks or even months ahead. Nothing has to be final unless that is where your gut is taking you. Never ever ever work away from your gut. It will tell you the path of least resistance and it will let you know if you need to do or not do. Be gentle with yourself, only trust who you truly trust and remember you know YOU better than anyone else, and you can do this. You absolutely can.
And for the record ‘this’ can be what ever you need it to be (and you can change your mind as often as you like).
